ABOUT

Alejandra Requeijo is a Madrid-based set designer and architect working internationally across opera, theatre and film.

She graduated in Architecture from the European University of Madrid and trained in Drama for five years at La Barraca, under the direction of Alicia Hermida.

Her set design work includes productions for Teatro Real, Ópera de Tenerife and Naves del Matadero. She has also worked internationally as Associate Set Designer to Rae Smith at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and regularly works as Assistant Set Designer to Michael Levine on opera productions.

Alongside her stage work, she has extensive experience in film and television, working as Assistant Art Director across productions of different scales, from major international projects to national ones.

Her work takes a conceptual approach to space, using scenography to reinforce the dramatic narrative and its relationship with performance.
